Liver Meridian Pressure Points

Liver Meridian

The Liver Meridian:

The Liver Meridian is a YIN meridian (polarity) found on the lower body. This is a wood element meridian with the energy flow direction being Centripetal or entering the body.

There are a total of 14 pressure points on Liver.

With reference to the
24-Hour Diurnal Cycle of the Body, the Liver Meridian is most active during the time of 1:00 am to 3:00 am. The correct “striking action” is chopping.

Unit of Measure is the "Cun"

LV-01:
LV-01 is located on the lateral aspect of the dorsum of the big toe, 0.1 cun proximal to the corner of the nail.

An attack to the big toe, such as a stomp, will cause great local pain while affecting Chi distribution in the body.

This can influence health over time especially if healing is an issue.

LV-01 is an Underlying Indicator Point.

LV-02:
Located on the web between the big and second toes slightly closer to the big toe.

This is primarily a healing pressure point for Liver health. If attacked with a stomp it will tend to drain Chi energy making continuing the confrontation much more difficult.

LV-02 is an Underlying Indicator Point.

LV-03:
LV-03 is located on the dorsum of the foot, between the ossa
metatarsal 1 and 2 in the depression posterior to the art, Metatarsophalangeal joint.

This is a very sensitive area of the foot and a solid strike will immobilize the attacker due to the intense pain.

LV-03 is an Underlying Indicator Point. LV-03 is also one of the 36 Dim Mak Vital Points

LV-04:
This pressure point is located 1 cun anterior to the medial
malleolus, midway between SP-05 and ST-41 in the depression on the medial side of the tendon of Tibialis anterior. Above the tubercle of the navicular, medial to the anterior Tibialis muscle.

This is a difficult pressure point to reach for self defense, however if you are successful serious ankle damage will result.

LV-05:
Located 5 cun above the tip of the medial
malleolus, on the medial aspect near the medial border of the Tibia. One third of the length from the tip of the malleolus to the midpoint of the knee.

This is a
Dim Mak pressure point as Liver health is affected later in life. A solid strike will cause abdominal pains and nausea. The strike will also cause cramping in the leg.

LV-05 is also a Collateral Pressure Point

LV-06:
LV-06 is located 7 cun above the medial
malleus, or 2 cun above LV-05, on the medial aspect near the border of the Tibia.

A solid strike will cause great pain and cramping of the leg. Often the person needs to sit down to recover. An excellent pressure point used to take control of a low escalation confrontation.

LV-06 is a Collateral Pressure Point.

LV-07:
Located posterior and inferior to the medial Condyle of the
Tibia, in the upper portion of the medial head of the gastrocnemius muscle, I cun posterior to SP-09.

Great local pain when struck correctly. The effect will rise to the head and cause a loss of balance in the inner ear. This is an awesome setup pressure point

LV-08:
The pressure point is located on the medial side of the Knee joint, when then Knee is flexed, the point is above the medial end of the transverse
popliteal crease, posterior to the medial condyle of the Tibia, on the Anterior border of the insertion of Semimbranosus and Semitendinous muscles.

When struck, this pressure point will heat up the body quickly bringing on a feeling of nausea. It is difficult to access.

LV-08 is an Underlying Indicator Point.

LV-09:

The pressure point LV-09 is 4 cun above the medial epicondial of the
Femur, between Vastus Medialis & Satorius muscles.

This pressure point is not often used for self defense, but it can be used for knockouts. It is rather dangerous because it can cause Liver issues later in life especially for someone with Liver problems.

LV-10:
LV-10 is located 3 cun below ST-30, on the lateral border of
Abductor Longus muscle, 1 cun below LV-11.

This is an excellent setup pressure point for knockouts! A hard strike can cause some temporary vision issues.

LV-11:
This pressure point lies 2 cun below ST-30, on the lateral border of
Abductor Longus muscle, on the medial border of the thigh.

As a self defense pressure point it causes weakness in the legs and the arms. This will often result in the attacker falling. It can have an affect on the health of the Spleen. LV-11 is also one of the 36 Dim Mak Vital Points

LV-12:
LV-12 is 2 cun below ST-30, on the lateral border of
Abductor Longus muscle, on the medial border of the thigh.

This is a dangerous pressure point as it is very close to the
femoral artery. However, it is an easier attack than the groin because the body will not defend it automatically. A strike to LV-12 and GB-24 can result in death.

LV-13:
This pressure point is located on the lateral side of the abdomen, below the
free end of the 11th rib when the arm is bent at the elbow and held against the side. The point is roughly located at the tip of the elbow.

This can be a very dangerous pressure point as a solid strike can do a great amount of physical damage including rupturing the Spleen. However, it is an excellent pressure point for a body knockout, especially since GB-24 is usually also hit when the area is struck.

LV-13 is the Alarm Point for Spleen and also an Influential Pressure Point. LV-13 is also one of the 36 Dim Mak Vital Points

LV-14:
LV-14 is located on the
mamillary line, 2 ribs below the nipple, in the 6th intercostal space. This point is 6 cun above the navel & 3.5 cun lateral to GV-14, near the medial end of the 6th intercostal space.

This is a very important pressure point because it can have many different dangerous effects. A solid strike on the left side of the body can cause the Heart to stop and the Lungs to collapse.

Vision issues or a knockout can occur from a medium strike. Serious Liver damage can occur instantly and continue into the future if untreated. LV-14 is the Alarm Point for Liver.
